You are able to teach your characters new skills in Persona 5: The Phantom X so that they are more likely to survive attacks and more ready for battles. Why this matters is that new skills mean your Personas are able to take advantage of enemy weaknesses, block, or buff the team more efficiently.

How to Teach New Skills

In the Velvet Room, choose the "Persona Training" option. There, you’ll find the "Teach" feature, which lets you give a Persona a new skill.

What Are Persona Seals?

To teach a Persona a new skill, you need a special item called a Persona Seal. These items contain one or more abilities that can be passed on to other Personas.

You can get Persona Seals in several ways. One way is by pulling characters through gacha banners  duplicates are converted into Seals. You can also earn them by defeating Shadows in the Metaverse. Another method is through Challenge Reward exchanges, where you trade in earned rewards for Seals. Additionally, participating in Metaverse Challenge Battles can also grant Seals as a reward.

How Training Works

The process of training is fairly simple:

1. Choose the Persona you want to teach.
2. Select a Seal that contains skills.

However, this process doesn’t always guarantee the skill you want—the skill received is selected randomly. So, you may need to repeat it several times to get the desired result.

Skill Inheritance

Besides using Seals, Personas can also learn new skills through fusion. When you fuse two Personas, the resulting one can inherit some abilities from the "parent" Personas. This allows you to create more flexible and powerful skill combinations.
