Something special is happening in Counter-Strike right now. And it’s called FURIA. As we move into the final stretch of the 2025 season, FURIA look like one of the main contenders for the Major title – and maybe even the most balanced team in the world. They keep improving with every tournament, getting stronger, smarter, and more confident. It’s not just hype anymore. FURIA is the real deal.
From Struggles to Dominance
The story of this rise started months ago. After several lineup changes and disappointing results, FURIA arrived at PGL Astana 2025 with something to prove. They didn’t win that event, but it was the beginning of their rebuild – the first time the new roster showed real potential.
Then came FISSURE Playground 2, where the team truly came alive. Against a strong field of teams, they managed to take first place, beating The MongolZ in the grand final. That victory gave them confidence and marked the start of something big.

After that, at ESL Pro League Season 22, they faced Vitality in the playoffs. They lost 2-1 – but that was against the future champions of the tournament, and the games were close. It showed that FURIA were no longer far behind the elite.
Their next stop was the Thunderpick World Championship, and that’s where the world took notice. FURIA completed an insane comeback in the final against NAVI, turning a 0-2 deficit into a 3-2 victory to claim the title.
Then comes IEM Chengdu 2025, where they just defeated Vitality in the grand final 3-0. Even though the maps were close, FURIA never broke. They stayed calm, played with structure, and finished strong. That win gave them their third title of the season – and officially confirmed it: FURIA are a championship team.
Power in Every Player
One of the biggest reasons behind FURIA’s success is their incredible individual level. Every player can deliver, and every player has moments when they shine the brightest.
- Danil "molodoy" Golubenko just won his second MVP of the season after dominating at IEM Chengdu.
- Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato earned an EVP at the same event, after already winning an MVP at the Thunderpick World Championship.
- Yuri "yuurih" Boian continues to post amazing performances at almost every tournament.
- Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis was the best player in the IEM Chengdu final, showing his old superstar form.
- And Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, even if his rating is the lowest, remains one of the most reliable anchors in the game.

He might not top the scoreboard, but in defense, he’s a wall – creating highlight after highlight, holding sites, and making the smartest calls under pressure.
That’s the magic of this roster. There’s no single carry – everyone contributes. In one match it’s molodoy, in another it’s KSCERATO or yuurih. This balance makes the team stable and dangerous.
People used to compare FURIA to Vitality, but after their recent results – including the 3–0 win over Vitality in Chengdu – it’s fair to say FURIA are now the better version of Vitality: more balanced, more structured, and more complete.

A Deep and Deadly Map Pool
Another reason for their success is their incredible map pool. This team can play everything. They’re not limited to one or two strong maps – they can win anywhere.
Here’s what the last six months look like:

That’s one of the most complete map pools in the scene.
Overpass is their best battleground – their defense and mid-round calling there are almost perfect. Nuke and Inferno are also extremely strong, and even their “weaker” maps like Dust2 or Train sit at 50% or better.
And then came the biggest surprise: at IEM Chengdu, when Vitality decided not to ban Ancient, FURIA picked it – and won. That’s their perma-ban, the map they usually avoid. But they trusted their preparation and took a huge risk that paid off. It proved one thing: if you give FURIA a chance, they’ll take it. Any team that struggles on Ancient – like Vitality or Aurora — should think twice before letting FURIA play it.

FURIA have become something rare in modern Counter-Strike: A team without weaknesses. They have the talent, the tactics, the leadership, and the belief. Every player is in great shape. Every map is playable. Every round feels winnable.
Right now, they’re not just one of the best teams in the world — they might be the team to beat heading into the Major. FURIA are the truth. And the rest of the CS2 world better be ready.
