Five Secret CS2 Easter Eggs You Never Knew About

Game developers constantly hide various Easter eggs and references, and gamers enjoy searching for them and trying to decipher. Valve is no exception, and in Counter-Strike 2, the first interesting references have already been found. In this article, Bo3.gg will tell you about five Easter eggs you can discover in CS2.

Gordon Freeman

The first Easter egg on our list is a reference to the legendary Gordon Freeman. If you open your inventory in CS2 and go to inspect the standard Dual Berettas, you will find an engraving with the inscription “Gordon F.” We all know who this is.

If you don’t know who Gordon Freeman is, he is the main character of the Half-Life series of games, also developed by Valve. In the game’s storyline, he works as a theoretical physicist at the Black Mesa research facility. Gordon is forced to defend himself and humanity from hostile creatures from another world that entered Earth as a result of a failed experiment.

Counter-Strike 1.6

In the updated version of the Inferno map, CS2 fans discovered a hidden reference to CS 1.6. In a room imitating a church, behind a closed door, there is a TV from which the sounds of grenade explosions and characters from the previous version of the game can be heard. In the previous version of the Inferno map, players could find a computer with CS 1.1 opened on the screen, which also served as a nod to the history of the Valve shooter.

Left 4 Dead

On the Nuke map, at the CT base, there is a SWAT van. If you approach it closely, you can find out that some music is playing from the armoured vehicle. The melody is similar to those used by Valve in another of their games — Left 4 Dead. Recognize the track?

Mysterious message on Vertigo

On all the boxes located on the Vertigo map in CS2, there is a mysterious message:

“My name is Jacob. I work with Magnar. He is incredibly evil, please help. He won’t let me go to the bathroom until I finish these objects. If this liquid gets on you, panic and run.”

At first, one might think that this is just a joke from the map's creators, but it's unlikely. It's more likely a reference to a Valve developer named Magnar Jensen (Magnar Jensen).

And again, Inferno

Especially attentive players in CS2 have long discovered a large number of street name signs on the Inferno map. All of them are references to the developers of CS2 — Magnar Jensen, Simon Fuchs, and Robert Briscoe. In general, if you experience lag, low FPS, or just can’t play well — you know who to be mad at.

We are confident that there are many more Easter eggs in CS2 that gamers have yet to discover. If you find one or several — be sure to send them in the comments!
