Surviving in Roblox Don't Splash takes more than just landing your jumps. The monster lurking beneath the water reacts to sound, and one badly timed splash can end your run. Luckily, you can use equipment to distract the creature, save teammates, and get out of tricky situations.
There are five main Don't Splash equipment items, each with its own purpose. Here's how to unlock them, what they do, how upgrades work, and which ones are worth spending your Coins on after the October 2026 Halloween update.
All Equipment in Don't Splash: Items and Prices
Don't Splash has five equipment items: Pebbles, Bottles, Rescue Rope, Wind-up Toy, and Flare. Pebbles are free from the start, while the other four cost Coins to unlock.
Equipment | Unlock Cost | Effect |
Pebbles | Free | Creates several small splashes to distract the monster |
Bottles | 150 Coins | Makes one loud splash to lure the monster |
Rescue Rope | 250 Coins | Pulls a downed teammate to safety |
Wind-up Toy | 300 Coins | Makes continuous noise for 6 seconds |
Flare | 450 Coins | Stuns the monster for 5 seconds |
You don't need to buy everything right away. Pebbles and Bottles are enough to learn how to lure the monster away from dangerous areas, while more expensive tools become useful as the stages get harder.
How to Get and Use Equipment in Don't Splash
You can buy and manage your tools at the purple EQUIPMENT stall in the lobby. Step into the circle to open the shop, unlock items, restock supplies, or change your loadout. The nearby yellow UPGRADES stall is where you'll find permanent equipment improvements.
By default, you can equip three tools at once. Extra slots are available for Robux.
During a run, equipment works differently depending on your device:
- PC: Select an item from its numbered hotbar slot and click to throw it.
- Mobile: Select the item and tap the on-screen THROW button.
Your hotbar also shows how many uses you have left.
Keep in mind that most equipment is consumable. Unlocking an item doesn't mean you get unlimited uses. Bottles, Wind-up Toys, and Flares initially come with three uses each. Pebbles can be collected for free from gray stone clusters on platforms, while the Coin version of Rescue Rope allows one use per room.

All Equipment Upgrades in Don't Splash
There are six permanent upgrades that improve your tools' effectiveness.
Upgrade | Base Effect | Level 1 Effect |
Throwing Range | Normal throwing distance | +10% range |
Pebble Skipping | 3 splashes | 4 splashes |
Rescue Speed | 3-second rescue | 2.8-second rescue |
Toy Battery | 6-second duration | 7-second duration |
Flare Radius | 10-stud radius | 11-stud radius |
Rope Reach | 12-stud reach | 14-stud reach |
Each upgrade has three levels. The first levels of Throwing Range, Pebble Skipping, and Rescue Speed cost 150 Coins each.
To upgrade Toy Battery, Flare Radius, or Rope Reach, you'll first need to unlock the corresponding equipment.

Don't Splash All Items Explained
Each item has a different role, and knowing when to use it can save your run. Some tools are great for keeping the monster busy, while others work better when things go wrong.
Pebbles — Best Free Equipment for Distractions
- Cost: Free
- Refill: 5 Coins each or 25 Coins for five
- Best for: Cheap distractions and everyday survival
Pebbles are your starting equipment and one of the most useful tools in Don't Splash. Throw one into the water, and it'll skip across the surface, creating three small splashes that attract the monster.
This makes Pebbles perfect for luring the creature away from narrow crossings, platforms, or valves you need to activate. You can collect more Pebbles from gray stone clusters scattered across platforms, so there's no need to constantly spend Coins on refills.
Best upgrades: Pebble Skipping adds more splashes per throw, while Throwing Range lets you distract the monster from a safer distance.

Bottles — Best for Loud Distractions
- Cost: 150 Coins (includes 3 uses)
- Best for: Luring the monster away from objectives
Bottles work similarly to Pebbles, but with one key difference: instead of creating several small splashes, they make one loud splash at the landing point.
They're especially useful when you want to pull the monster toward a specific location before crossing a dangerous area.
Pebbles are better for spreading out noise, while Bottles provide a stronger, more targeted distraction. Neither tool stuns the creature, though, so don't expect it to stop chasing you completely.
Best upgrade: Throwing Range, which lets you throw Bottles farther without getting too close to danger.

Rescue Rope — Best Equipment for Multiplayer
- Cost: 250 Coins or 30 Robux for the reusable version
- Best for: Saving downed teammates
Rescue Rope is a must-have if you regularly play Don't Splash with friends. It lets you pull a downed teammate back onto a safe platform without having to get right next to them. The standard Coin version allows one use per room, while the 30 Robux game pass gives you a reusable rope.
Its base reach is 12 studs, but the first Rope Reach upgrade increases that to 14 studs. You can also upgrade Rescue Speed to pull teammates to safety faster. If you're playing solo, Rescue Rope won't offer much value. But in multiplayer, it can save an entire run when someone messes up a jump.
Best upgrades: Rope Reach for rescuing players from farther away and Rescue Speed for quicker saves.

Wind-up Toy — Best for Longer Distractions
- Сost: 300 Coins (includes 3 uses)
- Best for: Keeping the monster distracted while you move
Unlike Pebbles and Bottles, Wind-up Toy keeps making noise after you deploy it. Once thrown into the water, the toy moves around and continuously attracts the monster for six seconds. That's enough time to cross a tricky section or complete an objective while the creature is busy elsewhere. With the first Toy Battery upgrade, its duration increases to seven seconds, giving you a little more breathing room.
Best upgrade: Toy Battery, which extends the distraction and gives you more time to move safely.

Flare — Best Equipment for Stunning the Monster
- Cost: 450 Coins (includes 3 uses)
- Refill: 50 Coins each or 250 Coins for five
- Best for: Emergency escapes and stopping the monster
Flare is the most expensive standard equipment in Don't Splash, but it's also one of the strongest defensive tools. A successful hit stuns the monster for five seconds, giving you a chance to escape, reposition, or finish an objective.
There's a catch, though: after being stunned, the same monster becomes immune to another stun for eight seconds. You can't just spam Flares to keep it locked down.
The Flare Radius upgrade increases the effect radius from 10 to 11 studs at level 1, making it easier to land a successful stun. It doesn't increase the stun duration.
Best upgrade: Flare Radius for more reliable hits.

Don't Splash Best Equipment: What to Buy First
If you're just starting out, don't rush to unlock every item. Upgrading Pebbles is one of the smartest early investments, since they're free to collect and useful in almost every room.
For solo players, here's the recommended purchase order:
- Pebble Skipping or Throwing Range (150 Coins): Improve your free starter tool. Pick Skipping for extra splashes or Range for safer throws.
- Bottles (150 Coins): Unlock a louder distraction for dangerous crossings.
- Wind-up Toy (300 Coins): Great when you need the monster distracted for several seconds.
- Flare (450 Coins): Keep it as your emergency escape tool when distractions aren't enough.
If you're playing with friends, consider getting Rescue Rope before Wind-up Toy or Flare. Being able to save a teammate can be much more valuable than another distraction.
You also don't need to spend Robux to get started. All five standard equipment types can be acquired with Coins or collected for free, although shop prices and supplies may change with future updates.

How the Halloween Update Affects Equipment
The October 2026 Halloween update brought five additional stages to Don't Splash:
- Moving Platforms
- Drifting Platforms
- Memory Bridge
- Crushing Walls
- Locked Exit
These stages put more pressure on movement and timing, making distractions and defensive tools even more useful.
Difficulty settings also became tougher, with Normal featuring three monsters and Hard featuring five. Players also receive a five-second protection shield after being revived.
The update added a Halloween Pack for 79 Robux, featuring double cash rewards and one free self-revive per run until October 31, 2026. The pack also includes permanent ghost trail and pumpkin aura cosmetics.
