Anime Expeditions Crow (Itachi) Guide: How to Get, Evolve & Build With Illusion Crow

Crow stands out as the only Secret-rarity character introduced in Anime Expeditions Update 0.5. Inspired by Itachi Uchiha, this anime-based unit specializes in delayed burst damage: his Illusion effect records the damage he deals before triggering an additional area attack. After evolving into Crow (Black Fire), he gains another major strength by burning through enemy shields and leaving affected targets easier for allied units to damage.

This guide breaks down Crow’s combat mechanics, strengths, and overall role in Anime Expeditions.

Crow (Itachi) at a Glance in Anime Expeditions

Anime Expeditions Crow specializes in damage over time, delayed burst damage, and breaking through shields, making him especially effective against bosses and other high-health enemies. His powerful Black Fire, Illusion, and Broken Mind abilities establish him as a valuable anti-tank DPS carry, although his rarity and event-based evolution requirements make him difficult for most players to obtain and fully upgrade.

How to Get Crow in Anime Expeditions: Villain Banner Odds and Pity

  • Crow can be obtained from Anime Expeditions’ temporary Villain Banner at a 0.01% chance, pity: 10000.

Each attempt on the banner costs 50 Villain Coins. Players can collect this event-exclusive currency by redeeming active codes or clearing Acts in the Villain Invasion mode. Villain Coins are also included in certain Robux bundles, with the cheapest available pack priced at 199 Robux.

A pity mechanic prevents players from summoning indefinitely without receiving Crow. Anyone who reaches 10,000 attempts is guaranteed to obtain the unit. Pulling Crow earlier will immediately reset the pity counter back to zero.

Crow (Black Fire): Evolution Requirements

Crow’s upgraded form in Anime Expeditions is Crow (Black Fire). The transformation is performed from the unit menu: open your inventory, select Crow, and choose the evolution option once every required resource has been collected.

Evolution materials you will need:

  • x20 Red Sprites
  • x20 Yellow Sprites
  • x20 Purple Sprites
  • x3 Rainbow Sprites
  • x1 Crow’s Ring
  • x10,000 Gold

Most Sprite materials can be obtained by clearing Legend and Challenge stages. They may also be created by combining Grey Sprites. Gold, meanwhile, is earned naturally across Story, Legend, and Challenge content.

The only item tied directly to the Villain event is Crow’s Ring. It can be purchased from the Villain Invasion Shop for 5,000 Villain Coins.

After securing the ring, all required Sprites, and the Gold fee, return to Crow’s inventory page and complete the evolution to unlock Crow (Black Fire).

Black Fire Kit Breakdown: Crow's Illusion, Broken Mind, Searing Fire

Crow (Black Fire) is built around delayed burst damage and shield removal. His attacks apply Illusion, a debuff that marks enemies and causes the damage he deals to be saved temporarily. Because Illusion can also spread to nearby targets within a limited area, Crow can pressure multiple enemies rather than focusing on only one. His kit works through three connected effects:

ABILITY
EFFECT
Illusion
A standard attack places Illusion on the target for 12 seconds.
Broken Mind
While an enemy remains affected by Illusion, all damage Crow deals to that target is recorded. Once the debuff ends, 25% of the stored damage is inflicted again as a small area-of-effect hit with a range of 2.
Searing Flames
Crow also specializes in breaking defensive barriers. Black Fire damages shields every tick, and targets whose shields are within Crow’s attack range gain a stack of Black Fire.

Together, these abilities make Crow (Black Fire) especially effective against grouped enemies and shielded opponents, with his strongest damage arriving after Illusion expires.

Illusion Crow: The Equipment That Changes the Kit

Illusion Crow is Secret-rarity Unit Equipment introduced in Anime Expeditions Update 0.5, released on July 25, 2026 with the Villain Update. It is designed exclusively for Crow (Black Fire) and cannot be equipped by any other character.

Its value comes from two upgrades. First, it adds bonus Damage and Range. More importantly, it replaces Crow’s standard Broken Mind effect with a significantly stronger version.

Stat
Possible bonus
Range
+1% to +5%
Damage
+1% to +10%

Anime Expeditions Crow Itachi normally stores damage dealt to enemies marked by Illusion, then triggers an additional attack when the debuff ends. Without the equipment, that final burst releases 25% of the stored damage in a small area with a range of 2.

Illusion Crow raises the release to 50%, effectively doubling the delayed portion of Broken Mind while keeping the same area size.

  • Standard passive — 25% in a 2-range AoE
  • With Illusion Crow — 50% in a 2-range AoE

This makes the equipment especially effective in lanes where enemies gather closely together, allowing the detonation to damage several targets at once.

Do You Need Illusion Crow?

For players who already use Crow (Black Fire), Illusion Crow is one of the most valuable upgrades available. It improves his base performance through additional stats and greatly increases the payoff from his Illusion mechanic. Since the item does not remove or weaken any part of his kit, the only real drawback is its high price.

Best Build: Traits, Stats, and Support

Illusion Crow performs best when Crow is positioned in a location where enemies remain grouped during the full duration of Illusion. The more targets caught inside the final 2-range explosion, the more value the enhanced Broken Mind passive provides.

Best Crow (Itachi) Build:

  • Trait: Unbound
  • Stats: Damage > SPA > Range (S+/S+/S+)
  • Best Support Pairings: Use magic buffs, slows, and backup AoE.

Best Illusion Crow stats:

  • Damage: +8.56% Damage or more
  • Range: +4.04% Range or more

Coin Spending Priority

Illusion Crow costs 10,000 Villain Coins in the Villain Invasion Event shop, making it the shop’s most expensive purchase.

The ideal spending order depends on your account:

  1. Players without Crow should prioritize the resources needed to obtain and evolve him.
  2. Players who own Crow but have not evolved him should secure Crow’s Ring and the remaining evolution materials first.
  3. Players with Crow (Black Fire) already completed should make Illusion Crow a top-priority purchase.

Because the equipment is unit-locked, purchasing it too early can leave a large amount of event currency tied up in an item that provides no immediate progress.

Current Availability (Update 0.5)

During Update 0.5, Illusion Crow is sold through the Villain Invasion Event shop for 10,000 Villain Coins.

Its availability is connected to the Villain Invasion event rather than the standard equipment pool. Players planning to use Crow (Black Fire) should therefore obtain it while the event shop remains accessible, since there is no guarantee that the equipment will continue to be sold after the event period ends.
