In Minecraft, more and more experimental mechanics are being introduced, and one of the most interesting additions is the Sulfur Cube mob. This unique creature can change its physical properties depending on the block it absorbs. Thanks to this, a new system of interaction with objects is formed in the game — through so-called archetypes.
What Are Sulfur Cube Archetypes
An archetype is a set of characteristics that defines the cube’s behavior. After absorbing a specific block, the following properties change:
- movement speed
- bounce height
- friction level
- air resistance
- interaction with water
This means that the same mob can behave completely differently depending on the situation.
Main Archetypes
Regular
A basic archetype with well-balanced characteristics. The cube has average speed, moderate bounce, and stable control. This is a versatile option suitable for most tasks.
Bouncy
This type makes the cube very bouncy and fast. It actively ricochets off surfaces and moves dynamically, making it ideal for fun mechanics and mini-games.
Slow Flat
The cube becomes slow and barely bounces. Its movement is inert, and it sinks in water. This archetype works well for creating obstacles or stable objects.
Fast Flat
Combines high speed with low bounce. The cube moves quickly but doesn’t “jump,” allowing for better control in mechanisms.
Light
This archetype makes the cube very light. It jumps higher and stays in the air longer, creating a smooth, floating movement effect.
Fast Sliding
The cube has almost no friction, allowing it to slide quickly across surfaces. Bounce is minimal, but speed is very high.
Slow Sliding
Movement is smoother and more controlled. The cube slides more slowly, making it useful for precise mechanisms.
Special Archetypes
High Resistance
The cube has extremely high resistance to movement and barely shifts from its position. This makes it ideal for stable constructions or “anchor” elements.
Sticky
The cube’s surface becomes adhesive. It doesn’t bounce and can stick to objects, opening up possibilities for traps and fixing mechanisms.
Explosive
The most dangerous archetype. The cube can explode after activation, allowing it to be used as a dynamic destruction tool or as part of traps.
Sulfur Cube is more than just a new mob in Minecraft. It’s a full-fledged tool that allows players to manipulate object physics and unlock new creative possibilities.
