All Graffiti on CS2 Maps and Their Stories

There are several ways to etch your name into the history of Counter-Strike 2 – earn personalized stickers for participating in a Major or create a beautiful weapon skin that becomes part of the game's collection. However, among professional players, there is a group of seven individuals who have stood out in a unique way. This article discusses the graffiti on various maps in CS2 that commemorate incredible player actions.

Burning Defender

At point B on the Overpass map, there is a yellow hut with an image of a counter-terrorist on fire. This was the first graffiti in the game, appearing after Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer defused a C4 bomb while burning from a Molotov cocktail in the semifinals of ESL One Cologne 2014.

The Swedish player managed to defuse the explosive seconds before his death, snatching the 15th round from Team Dignitas. The score on the map became 15:14. Olof's team, Fnatic, also won the next round.

This heroic defuse led to a victory on the map, the match, and ultimately the entire Major. In the final, Fnatic defeated Ninjas in Pyjamas 2:1.

Olofmeister's Boost

The Swedish legend is the only player in the world with two commemorative marks, both on the Overpass map. In the quarterfinals of DreamHack Winter 2014, Fnatic surprised Team LDLC with an unconventional boost at the CT spawn. This tactical move helped them come back from 3:12 and win the map 16:13.

However, the boost was deemed unfair: Olofmeister could see and kill his opponents while remaining invisible to them. Following the controversy, Fnatic conceded the match, and Team LDLC won the entire tournament. After the tournament, Valve fixed the possibility of such a boost and added a commemorative plaque.

Flying AWP

On the Mirage map, behind the van at point B, you can see an image of an AWP with wings and four marks above the scope. This drawing appeared thanks to Marcelo "coldzera" David.

In the semifinals of MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016, his team, Luminosity Gaming, played against Team Liquid. With the score at 9:15, the Brazilian team needed a miracle, and coldzera delivered! Liquid players decided to use a proven tactic – rush B. Coldzera almost single-handedly stopped the five opponents with an AWP Asiimov.

After making four frags, including a no-scope kill of s1mple and EliGE – two CS stars – coldzera gave a true masterclass. The epic moment was heightened by the fact that after this performance, Luminosity Gaming pulled the map into overtime and won. Coldzera even got a tattoo of this icon on his right arm.

Descended from Heaven

On the Cache map, there is an image of s1mple with an AWP and wings. It can be found at the entrance to point B from the defense side. The graffiti depicts a sniper soaring on wings, with the scope of his rifle falling down. After all, who needs a scope when you can perform such a miracle and win the round?

This legendary moment occurred in the semifinals of ESL One: Cologne 2016 and was so liked by the community that the graffiti remained after the Cache map remake. Although it was absent in the first version of the updated map, it can now be found again at the very spot where both frags were made.

King of Banana

Did you know that the part of the Inferno map known as "banana" is actually called Adam's Street? And this Adam is a well-known player to all CS fans. During the time when NiP dominated for several years, Friberg played especially well on the path to point B.

Friberg repeatedly showcased top-tier skills on "banana," but the brightest moment came in the grand final of ESL One Cologne 2014. With an AK-47 Redline in hand, Adam single-handedly destroyed the entire Fnatic team, with the key three kills made specifically on "banana." Since Inferno was the decisive map, which NiP eventually won, the significance of this moment cannot be overstated.

Phenomenal Grenade

Again on Inferno, and again graffiti dedicated to a legendary moment in esports. In the grand final of PGL Krakow Major 2017, one cleverly thrown grenade became the key to victory on the decisive map.

Gambit was confidently leading 9:1. In the eleventh round, the Immortals players managed to take point A and plant the C4, retaining the majority of live players. The remaining Gambit players decided not to attempt to defuse the bomb and went to save their weapons.

Then Dosia made a risky decision – he threw a grenade from the boiler into "sand." This decision fully justified itself. The Immortals players stayed at point A to survive the C4 explosion in the far corner. Usually, if you have full health, you survive, but the grenade landed there just a few seconds before the explosion! Two players lost more than half their health, and the bomb explosion finished them off. Two lost AK-47s, a ruined economy, and a missed chance for a comeback!

Wolf on the Roof

The last graffiti today is truly unique and will likely always remain one of a kind. It is located on the roof of one of the houses on the Blacksite map, used for a battle royale show match at IEM Katowice Major 2019.

At the end of the show match, Furlan was left outnumbered against SPUNJ and jks, who were playing as a team. Realizing it would be hard to deal with two opponents alone, Furlan activated his true strategic genius. He tracked the location of the enemies by the flight path of a delivery drone, sneaked up on them via the roof, and, hearing footsteps, attacked. SPUNJ and jks did not expect an attack from above. Furlan first took out one, then changed position and finished off the second.

Now, on the roof that brought the player victory in the match, shines graffiti with a wolf image and the signatures of Furlan and GruBy. They were the winners of this battle royale.

Unfortunately, for every graffiti, there are hundreds of highlights less fortunate than the ones mentioned above. However, these graffiti and highlights will remain in the fans' memory forever. Remember, CS2 is a game, and games are meant to be enjoyed!
