We met with B8 player Oleksii "alex666" Yarmoschuk after his team's victory over Imperial in the opening match of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 1. In an exclusive interview with Bo3.gg, he shared what helped secure the win and his thoughts about the match. Oleksii also explained what helps them win matches.
You started well by taking the pistol round and the following round, but then you lost five in a row. Imperial often attacked the fortified site. What hindered your defense? Was it poor shooting?
After we won two rounds in a row and then lost five, yes, I think our shooting let us down a bit. We didn't have any trades.
The start of the second half was almost identical to the first. Sometimes, your actions made it seem like you were too nervous.
In the second half, I think we did everything right. But we had another wrong play at point B, where we slipped up a bit. That's all.

What helped you turn the match around?
The game turned around thanks to npl with his clutch. After that, we were all charged up for the win.
Nail-biting victories have become a tradition for B8, especially on LAN. Can this be called your signature style?
Nail-biting victories, yes, we have that quite often. However, we always play to the end and remain calm.
You showed almost no emotions during the match. Why? Would it be easier if you occasionally expressed your emotions?
Previously, I think we had no emotions at all, but now we try to hype each other up little by little. Shouting something, making a gesture to the opponent.
