CS2 will have no bind to change hands: the weapon will be located only on the right

Bind to change hands will not appear in Counter-Strike 2.

Dataminer GabeFollower reported that Valve has completely removed the hand change feature in Counter-Strike 2. The dataminer attributes this to the fact that players can now see their shadows and legs.

How did hand change work in CS:GO?

In CS:GO, changing hands was a critical bind. After pressing one button, the weapon instantly moved from the right side of the screen to the left. This not only helped to choose a convenient position of the weapon model but also to switch the position to see one of the parts of the screen if necessary.

And such a bundle would look strange in Counter-Strike 2 because the game has grown graphically and changed some rules. Now players see the same not only smoke but also their models. Players see their feet and understand the positioning of the model. Each player is now a full-fledged object which also sees its shadow. And if the change of hands was typically viewed from the first person in CS:GO, then in CS2, the change of hands will have to be drawn for other players as well, which will look strange.

What will change with the removal of the bind?

Removing the bind to change hands isn't catastrophic, but it will affect the objective slightly. Now the positions in which the opponents will exit from the right will cease to be so popular because the opponents will be able to take advantage of the fact that weapons will cover an essential part of the screen.

The meta will change slowly, but at some point, the positions will move slightly.
