CEO of SK Gaming: "We considered signing Last Dance"

SK's CEO, Alexander Müller, stated that his organization is open to the possibility of returning to Counter-Strike in the future. In an interview for Dust 2 Brazil, he said that there had been an attempt to sign a roster for the shooter by Valve at the beginning of 2022.

We can never truly say goodbye to CS because we don't know what the future holds. When attending a tournament, we feel at home. We saw the latest CS:GO champion in this arena and spent time with players from the past generation. Such experiences always fill us with wonderful memories, good emotions, without any negativity.

Müller specifically noted that the club hears the wishes of the community, which wants the organization to enter CS2, Valorant, and Fortnite. But for now, the management needs to convince brand representatives and shareholders of the feasibility of such a decision.

We thought about signing Last Dance and discussed the project with them; we were open to conversations about whether it was possible or not. We told them that if they needed guidance, we could provide it because they became part of the SK family. We went through the documents, debated and tried to understand if they wanted to wait for Last Dance in SK, but it did not happen.

SK Gaming was represented in Counter-Strike from 2001 to 2018, earning almost $3.7 million in prizes over 17 years. The club's main achievement is the first place at the ESL One: Cologne 2016 Major, where the legendary roster with coldzera and FalleN emerged victorious.
