Reddit users drew attention to the statistics.
The community has collected statistics on the release of the CS:GO updates by the day of the week, which can be used to conclude the release time of Source 2.
A Reddit user with the nickname Ventsii99 collected statistics on all CS:GO updates since 2013 and compiled their release schedule by day of the week. As a result, Saturday and Sunday became the rarest days for the release of updated versions.

Will we see Source 2 before the weekend?
Before speculating on using this graph, it is worth mentioning that all client updates are included in the statistics. Even the most minor updates, about which there were no posts in the game blog, are included in the list. Therefore, there are small tweaks to the network code and other minor changes among the updates.
But even with such initial data, an updated output during the weekend remains an incredibly rare phenomenon. This happened only three times in almost ten years. Therefore, if the update is waiting for us this week, then the latest moment for the release will be the night from Friday to Saturday.

Why should we wait for Source 2 until the end of the week?
Recently, rumors about releasing an update for Source 2 or Counter-Strike 2 began to appear with greater force. Such leaks can only be controlled. All sources report that the update will be released in the coming days. The latest named deadline is the second half of March, but much more information is available about the earliest.
In addition, today, there was a leak with the files of the new version of the game, which could not be leaked just like that. However, Valve is definitely actively engaged in the implementation of the update. Also, many sources reported that pro players are already testing the new version.
We are waiting for news about the release soon.
