ESL Named the Winners of 2022 Awards

The disappointment of today's defeat was brightened by the win in the award for s1mple.

ESL handed out awards for 2022, naming winners in the categories "Player of the Year", "Breakthrough of the Year" and "Team of the Year".

The player of 2022 was Oleksandr s1mple Kostyliev from NAVI. He won the same category and was included in the team of the year by BLAST, according to the tournament operator.

The “Breakthrough of the Year” was awarded to G2 sniper Ilya m0NESY Osipov, largely due to his victory at the end of the year in the BLAST Premier World Final 2022.

The “Team of the Year” was won by FaZe Clan, who won several big tournaments and majors in the first half of 2022.

Earlier, ESL also shared a list of nominees, which included one female esports player, Ana ANa Dumbravă from Nigma Galaxy.

Will FaZe and s1mple be able to repeat their success in 2023?

So far, the beginning of the year has been mediocre for both Kostylev and FaZe, while Heroic and G2 look stronger. In terms of player rankings, NiKo (6.7) leads. His team G2 is now competing in the IEM Katowice 2023 semi-final against Liquid. Live statistics for the match are available via the link.
