StarLadder to Host 2025 CS2 Major in Budapest’s 20,000-Seat MVM Dome
The 2025 StarLadder Budapest Major is an upcoming Major championship that will be played with Counter-Strike 2. StarLadder Budapest Major will be the twenty-third Major for Counter-Strike 2. After holding the 2019 Berlin Major, StarLadder will move to Budapest and host the Major there. The 32 teams will compete in Budapest from November 24 to December 14, 2025 for the share of the $1,250,000 prize pool.

The tournament is held across two Budapest venues:
MTK Sportpark (2,000 capacity): Stages 1-3 (November 24 - December 7, 2025).
MVM Dome (20,000 capacity): December 11-14, 2025 for playoff

Format & Structure
The tournament plays with a three-stage Swiss system then a single-elimination playoffs bracket.
Stages 1-3 use a Swiss-system format of sorts. 8 teams are eliminated during each stage as 8 teams advance to the playoffs.
The playoffs were an eight-team single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches.
Grand Final: first best-of-five of Major history
For Swiss stages, matches that neither progress nor eliminate occur in best-of-one format, while matches that progress and eliminate occur under best-of-three format.
