Riot Games has revealed the first details of the Open Qualifiers for the VCT 2027 season. The competitions will begin in November and provide teams with a path to Kickoff, Cups, Masters, and Champions.
The Kickoff tournaments in VCT Americas, VCT EMEA, and VCT Pacific will each feature 12 participants. Eight places will be given to partner teams, while the remaining four will be claimed through the Open Qualifiers.
The qualifiers will cover 16 regions:
- VCT Americas: North America, Latin America North, Latin America South, and Brazil;
- VCT EMEA: Europe, Türkiye, and MENA;
- VCT Pacific: South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Oceania;
- VCT CN: China.
The Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and the remaining Southeast Asian countries will compete in a combined Southeast Asia qualifier. Riot Games may also organize multiple qualifiers in some regions, giving teams more than one opportunity to reach Kickoff.
In most regions, at least three of the five players on a roster must be from the territory in which the team competes. Teams will also retain their competitive progress throughout the season if they keep at least three players from their original roster.
Registration has not yet opened. Exact dates, competition formats, age restrictions, and MMR requirements will be announced later through the regional VCT channels.
