Valorant community showcases new tricks on Abyss map

On June 9th, Riot Games unveiled the new Abyss map during a showmatch before the grand final of VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai. This map has no boundaries and features a bottomless pit, where falling leads to death, opening up new tactical opportunities for players.

In the showmatch, streamer Masayoshi demonstrated how Raze’s ability can be used to move outside the map to the back of site A. Additionally, as shown in a video by Kanga, this movement can also be performed without abilities by using a strafe technique.

Player Mixwell successfully used Omen’s teleportation to enter the site. Omen often plays the role of an initiator on maps like Ascent, and his abilities may also be beneficial on Abyss due to the map’s unique terrain.

Interesting ways to utilize the map were found not only during the showmatch but also in preliminary custom games with influencers. Keeoh, for example, used Raze’s ability to move from the defenders' spawn to site A, creating two directions from which to approach the plant.

Abyss, thanks to its lack of boundaries, becomes a map where high-mobility agents like Jett, Raze, and Omen can showcase their best qualities. Many players have already discovered various new strategies and exploits, and this is just the beginning.
