Trainwreckstv Ban in VALORANT Sparks Debate Between xQc and Riot

Trainwreckstv announced that he received a 31-day ban in VALORANT for playing in a party with friends. The situation quickly escalated beyond a normal penalty after xQc publicly reached out to Riot Games, Riot Support, and VALORANT, stating that the game's rules and support site do not prohibit this type of gameplay.

According to xQc, Trainwreckstv was banned after playing in a 5-stack with friends. In an attached screenshot, GamerDoc stated that the streamer was "carried" by players above his skill level, and the situation was an "obvious case" of misconduct. He also noted that the ban would not be lifted.

Trainwreckstv responded to the penalty, stating that he became the "first and last person" to be banned for playing poorly. He later added that he received a 31-day ban for playing live with Prod, Sinatraa, Dapr, and Hmanyontwitch in a 5-stack.

The Controversy

The main argument from Trainwreckstv and xQc's side is the fact that VALORANT allows ranked matches with a full group of five people, even with a significant rank difference. In such cases, the system imposes a penalty on the RR received, but the 5-stack format itself is not prohibited.

Because of this, part of the community finds the ban odd: if the players were participating in a permitted format and the system allowed the match, penalizing Trainwreckstv for being weaker than the other party members seems questionable.

Another part of the audience points to possible rank manipulation. If the group used smurf accounts, other people's accounts, or intentionally lowered the average MMR of the lobby, Riot might consider this as rank manipulation. This remains the key issue as Riot has not publicly explained the exact reason for the ban.

On X and Reddit, the discussion is divided. Some users believe that Riot wrongly punished the player for simply playing with friends. Others are convinced that the issue might not be the 5-stack itself, but the selection of accounts and the attempt to enter weaker lobbies.

GamerDoc's tone in the message also drew criticism. Players noted phrases about how there's "nothing fun" in the situation and the threat to ban another participant's accounts. This shifted the discussion not only to VALORANT's rules but also to the issue of public communication by Riot representatives.

respect the opinion but ur wrong on this one, riot doesnt need to publish smurf receipts to action obvious boosting patterns from a 5-stack, the rr penalty isnt a free pass
