NRG officially announced the benching of Danish rifler Alexander “br0” Bro after nearly a year and a half with the organization. The decision came shortly after the team's disappointing performance at Stage 1 IEM Cologne Major 2026, where NRG finished 9th–11th.

The organization confirmed that br0 has been allowed to explore new opportunities while NRG begins restructuring the roster following another setback at a major tournament. This is yet another attempt by the team to stabilize results on the Tier-1 CS2 scene.

The Major failure was a key factor for changes

The result in Cologne was decisive for the upcoming roster changes. NRG failed to advance from Stage 1, despite some competitive maps, and lost the chance to continue competing in the major.

Following this, the organization's management initiated an internal review of the roster, seeking ways to bring the team back to consistent results on the international stage.

Strong individual stats for br0

Despite the team's issues, br0 showcased one of the best individual performances within NRG, with a 6.4 rating, the highest on the team. He also participated in several majors, including IEM Cologne, BLAST.tv Austin Major, and StarLadder Budapest Major.

However, consistent team play was insufficient for deep runs at the top level, leading to his benching.
