Epic Games has teased the Fortnite Winterfest 2024, set to launch this week. Additionally, insider @Hypex has shared some details about the upcoming event on their page on the social network X (Twitter).

Release Date of Fortnite Winterfest 2024

Officially, Epic Games has not confirmed the exact release date of update 33.11 and the winter event. According to insider Hypex, Fortnite Winterfest 2024 will start on December 20, 2024, and last until January 7, 2025. However, the prior update 33.11, which will bring a lot of festive content, may appear as early as December 17-18, depending on the region.

New Skins and Cosmetics

Winterfest is known for introducing a variety of holiday skins and cosmetic items. Players can expect new festive outfits and the return of classic winter skins from previous years. There might also be collaborations with popular franchises, bringing new unique character skins to the Fortnite universe, or even old ones, including characters from DC, Godzilla, and others.

Map Changes

During Winterfest, the Fortnite island traditionally undergoes a winter transformation. Players will be able to enjoy snowy landscapes, festive decorations, and new Points of Interest (POI) that highlight the holiday atmosphere. One of the main additions this year will be the Winter Cabin POI – a cozy house with a fireplace.

Weapons and Items

The return of popular festive weapons is expected, such as the Snowball Launcher, Icy Grapplers, and Snowy Floppers, adding holiday cheer to the combat encounters. New themed items may also appear, creating more opportunities for creative battles in a winter atmosphere. There is information that winter items will include skates and wind grenades.

Temporary Holiday Modes

Expect the return of classic limited-time modes like Snowball Fight and Ice Storm, as well as the introduction of a new mode called Frostbite Royale. In this mode, players start with half health and need to warm up by lighting campfires or collecting heat sources. These modes offer fun gameplay and the opportunity to earn XP and exclusive cosmetic items. There are also rumors about an exclusive Winterfest tournament where winners will receive a festive pickaxe.

Daily Rewards and Challenges

Continuing Fortnite traditions, players will be able to receive daily free gifts (skins, items, cosmetics, etc.) and challenges throughout Winterfest. By logging into the game daily, players can earn exclusive rewards such as skins, weapon wraps, and emotes. Among the expected skins are Juice WRLD, Ice Spice, & Snoop Dogg Car.

Collaborations and Crossovers

Many previous and current leaks suggest that during Winterfest 2024, collaborations with some popular franchises can be expected. In particular, there are rumors of a potential crossover with Cyberpunk 2077 from CDPR and the Cars movie from Disney and Pixar studios, which may add themed skins and items to the game. Collaborations with Snoop, Shaq, Demon Slayer, King Kong are also anticipated.
