Brazilian 34-year-old player Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo from FURIA publicly announced on the stage of IEM Rio 2026 that he will retire from professional play at the end of 2026. His esports journey began back in 2004 in Counter-Strike 1.6.
Throughout his career, the Brazilian has competed at a professional level in three versions of the game, starting with CS 1.6 and planning to end his story in Counter-Strike 2 with FURIA. Over the years, he has earned $1,454,938 in prize money according to Liquipedia and won more than a dozen trophies with teams such as Liquid, FURIA, MIBR, SK Gaming, and others. During his speech on the IEM Rio 2026 stage, FalleN could not hold back his emotions and burst into tears, while the crowd supported him.
Here are some of his greatest achievements throughout his career so far:
- MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016 — Luminosity Gaming, 1st place
- ESL One: Cologne 2016 — SK Gaming, 1st place
- EPICENTER 2017 — SK Gaming, 1st place
- ESL One: Cologne 2017 — SK Gaming, 1st place
- IEM Rio Major 2022 — FURIA Esports, 3rd–4th place
- HLTV Top 20 Players of 2016 — SK Gaming, 2nd place
Over more than 22 years, the player has won only one Major but participated in dozens, and he still has a chance to lift another trophy at the most prestigious CS tournament before the end of 2026. Perhaps he will do it at IEM Cologne Major 2026, which will begin in June.
FalleN still has several big tournaments ahead in 2026, including the second Major of the season. If the team qualifies, it could become a symbolic final chapter of his career. Thus, the Brazilian still has enough opportunities to end his journey on the professional scene with a strong result and once again remind everyone why his name has long been part of Counter-Strike history.
