ESL compared the average duration of matches after switching to MR12

ESL has released statistics on the duration of matches in recent tournaments after switching to MR12. Compared to the MR15 system, matches have become noticeably shorter.

If on previous major events, a map typically took around an hour, then in the open qualifiers held on CS2, they became shorter by 10 minutes or more.

Based on the data obtained, the tournament operator made a schedule change for IEM Sydney, allocating approximately 1 hour for bo1 instead of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Bo3, in turn, received an approximate window of 3 hours instead of 3.5. Remember that the championship itself will start on October 16.
