Valve Releases New Patch for Counter-Strike 2 — Cache Changes, New Music Kits, and Deathmatch Tweaks

Valve continues to actively update Counter-Strike 2 following the return of Cache to the map pool. On May 8, the developers released another patch, which fixed bugs on Cache, added new music kits, and made changes to Deathmatch and Arms Race.

Cache Receives a New Wave of Fixes

In the latest update, Valve fixed various gaps on the Cache map and simplified grenade collisions in several areas. The developers also updated sounds and surface types for different materials.

Separately, they changed one of the objects on Sandbags — replacing the orange wire spool with a white one.

NIGHTMODE II Music Kits Introduced

Valve also added new NIGHTMODE II music kits. These are now available for purchase through the STORE tab in both standard and StatTrak versions.

Changes to Deathmatch and Gameplay

The update also affected the game's general mechanics. Valve adjusted the point values for different weapons in Deathmatch and changed the XP limits in Deathmatch and Arms Race.

Additionally, the developers:

  • Fixed network synchronization for User Viewmodel FOV;
  • Updated player model occlusion boundaries;
  • Fixed ragdoll animations after shots;
  • Improved the smoothness of landing and jumping;
  • Fixed transitions post-processing;
  • Resolved an issue with loading map guides for the night version of Ancient.
