Grand Final

Vitality became the champions of BLAST Rivals Spring 2025, securing a victory over Falcons in the grand final of the tournament. This marks the fifth consecutive tier-1 title for the French organization. The match was held in an intense best-of-5 format and was memorable for its numerous spectacular moments.

After losing to Falcons, Duncan "Thorin" Shields decided that the issue today was with NiKo.

NiKo was terrible by his standards today. If he had shown up, victory might have been on the cards.

After winning one of the rounds, apEX celebrated by jumping on his chair, but ZywOo reminded the captain that he forgot to charge his mouse, which was amusing.

While watching the matches, everyone enjoys the cool moments and replays, but no one sees the other side. Pimp shared a photo of the studio work and captioned it: "Unsung heroes!"

FALCONS Missed Winning the 4th Map by 0.28!

During Vitality's comeback from 12-3, at 12-6, Falcons' Twitter recalled the situation at IEM Melbourne 2025 when the team lost a comeback and the tournament.

Duncan "Thorin" Shields also shared a simple guide on how to beat Vitality, recommended for use:

1. If Vitality plays poorly, you have a chance.
2. If you do everything right, you might win; if not, you definitely won't.
3. If you play poorly, you have no chance against them.

Finally, he added, "Good luck stopping such a team!"

It's a great moment to once again congratulate Vitality for having the courage to replace dupreeh with flameZ. Very few organizations would remove a legend who just set a solo record for the most CS:GO majors won, right after a major win and nearly 3 LANs in a row!

After the map, Duncan "Thorin" Shields reminded everyone of his presence and gave advice to pro players who act as analysts at tournaments.

Pros who come to the desk seem to think that analyzing through the lens of team confidence is the most important and insightful stuff imaginable. For me, it's so superficial that it doesn't even approach an interesting angle.

After winning on Dust 2, Duncan "Thorin" Shields shared his opinion regarding Vitality's victory on this map.

Every time a team wins a map, and you wonder if they can beat Vitality, they turn around and deliver an ultra-blow to the opponent on the next map. The gap between this lineup and everyone else is impressive.

Before the match, players were interviewed where m0NESY and ZywOo tried to provoke emotions. But the players decided to joke and scare the interviewer.

Semifinals

Vitality 2:0 Spirit

In the semifinal match, Vitality defeated Spirit as part of the BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 tournament. The match ended 2:0—on Mirage (13:8) and Nuke (13:9).

After defeating Spirit, Vitality achieved their 24th consecutive LAN victory, surpassing Liquid's 2019 record and becoming the second team in history for consecutive wins. The first place is still held by NIP from 2012-2013 with 60 consecutive wins.

The last -2 by apEX allowed Vitality to take the last round and secure the second map, thus winning the match.

apEX made a beautiful -3 with a pistol, but unfortunately, the round was lost.

chopper hid in the ninja spot, taking out two opponents, thus canceling the bomb plant and winning the round for Spirit.

Falcons 2:0 MOUZ

Falcons easily defeated MOUZ in the semifinal match of the BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 tournament. The match ended 2:0—on Nuke (16:14) and Dust II (13:6).

m0NESY made a great wallbang on mid, hitting torzsi in the head, and BLAST published this moment with the POV of both players, showing how it looked from their perspectives.

A funny moment occurred in the third round of the second map when NiKo laughed and shouted to a teammate, "You baited me on long, damn it," which amused the commentators.

Analyst Duncan "Thorin" Shields commented on Falcons' game after the map ended, noting NiKo's weak form and the contribution of other players in keeping the team's chances alive.

BLAST published on their social media the POV moment with a back camera showing how torzsi made -3 with AWP, as well as the in-game clip.

Brollan made -3 with MP9, leveling the score on the map, but the funny moment was when MOUZ posted this moment on their X account with the caption "Flying Swede" due to two frags made in the air.

After the match, Boris "magixx" Vorobyev from Spirit was asked if he considers his teammates baiters. He ironically replied that it's true but takes it calmly:

Well, they're all baiters. Like... it's true.

He was also asked if it affects his confidence when he's asked to flash for donk at the start of the round and go in first at the end. He admitted he's used to it, but sometimes it can be demoralizing:

It's generally fine. I'm used to it, but sometimes it's a bit depressing to go out short when you're up against an AWP, and that AWP isn't w0nderful.

The topic of the best player of the year wasn't left out. When asked if donk would win the title again, magixx joked that much depends on him:

If I don't ruin the games, maybe he will. Basically, it all depends on me. If I make three kills, we probably won't win. But if I carry again, we win the major.

Finally, Spirit was asked about the upcoming match against Vitality. He noted the team is well-prepared and has a chance if they approach the match with the right mindset:

We're ready. It's cool because everyone wants to beat Vitality. If we approach the match with the right mindset and a good game plan, we can beat them. We've already shown a close game against them in Lisbon [BLAST Open Spring 2025 tournament, where they lost to Vitality 2-1 in the semifinals]. Hopefully, we won't play like crap.

After the matches, an interesting moment happened on the broadcast where the commentators, including Pimp, decided to have a water-drinking contest.

Spirit easily advanced past Wildcard in the quarterfinals of the BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 tournament. The match ended 2:0—on Anubis (13:9) and Dust2 (13:3).

After the map, Wildcard's social media posted an interesting photo where Sonic is pictured without arms, and Wildcard captioned the photo: "He really outdid Spirit without arms."

Then dupreeh tried to recreate this moment, but it was very cringe on his part.

After the match, Filip "NEO" Kubski was asked what the team lacks to close out rounds, to which he explained that it's a combination of many factors, but ultimately it comes down to mentality:

We're doing a lot right. We had a good streak of rounds won on this map [Dust2—the first map of the match]. But in general, I think it's all combined, and probably, in the end—mentality. It's hard to say exactly.

He was also asked how he copes with the role of a coach in tough times, as he has experienced similar slumps as a player. He admitted this is his first such crisis as a coach, and he continues to learn how to deal with it:

I've been in such situations as a player. But this is the first time I'm facing this as a coach. I'm still learning and developing, trying to figure out how to deal with it properly. These are not easy conversations, but in the end—it's part of the job. Everyone has to open up, discuss, and share their perspective on the reasons for the defeat. It's a process. It's a tough time right now.

MOUZ confidently outplayed FaZe Clan in the quarterfinals of the BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 tournament with a score of 2:0. The match ended on Dust2 (13:11) and Mirage (13:2).

MOUZ commented on Jimpphat's score on Twitter, posting a very confident photo with him in the spotlight.

On the second map, MOUZ started again with a crushing lead, going up 8-0. But the most interesting was Jimpphat's 17-0 KD score, while FaZe had a total of 9.

After MOUZ reached 12 rounds, the commentator "switched sides" again and took off the FaZe shirt.

After rain's clutch and good defense, FaZe brought the game to 8:8. And after winning the 15th round, when FaZe tied the score, one of the commentators "switched sides" by putting on a FaZe shirt, which was amusing.

BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 takes place from April 30 to May 4. The entire tournament will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the BLAST studio. Participants compete for a prize pool of $350,000. You can follow the results and progress of the tournament at this link.
