Vitality's apEX and mezii sat down to make their tier list of the IEM Cologne Major field, and the two champions weren't shy about putting themselves at the very top alongside NAVI.
Favorites
NAVI and Vitality share the top spot. The IEM Atlanta champions and the reigning Grand Slam holders are the two teams apEX and mezii see as genuinely above the rest of the field heading into Cologne.
Championship Contenders
Falcons, FURIA, and PARIVISION make the second tier. Three teams capable of winning the whole thing but a step below the top two in the Vitality duo's estimation.
Playoffs
The MongolZ, MOUZ, Spirit, and Aurora fill the third tier. All four are expected to make deep runs but fall short of a title challenge.
Dark Horses
HEROIC, Legacy, SINNERS, NRG, FUT, paiN, G2, and Astralis land in tier four. A wide group with enough talent to cause upsets but not enough consistency to go all the way in apEX and mezii's view.
Just Happy to Be Here
Monte, TYLOO, BIG, 9z, FlyQuest, THUNDER dOWNUNDER, GamerLegion, MIBR, Sharks, and Gaimin Gladiators round out the bottom tier. Ten teams, including some that fought hard to qualify, that the Vitality pair don't see making a real dent in the bracket.
Putting themselves at the top of a Major tier list while competing in it takes a certain kind of confidence. From apEX, it's completely on brand.
