In PEAK survival involves more than conquering grip strength and climbing tactics; nutrition also is greatly necessary. While granola bars and trail mix are always a reliable source of packaged food, berries do offer the potential to provide stamina staples, especially if you pick the right ones. Some berries in PEAK will keep you climbing strong, while others will silently build up poison and strike when you least expect it.
Most berries look tempting, but only certain ones are consistently safe across biomes.
Berry | Notes |
Red Crispberry | Common and safe in most areas |
Blue Crispberry | Safe stamina boost |
Yellow Crispberry | Safe unless it's a Kingberry variant |
Winterberry | Region-specific, always safe |
Scorchberry | Safe berry found in volcanic zones |
Not every berry is your friend. These types are known to cause poison buildup when eaten:
Berry | Why to Avoid |
Green Crispberry | Always poisonous, causes minor poison buildup after restoring stamina |
Green Kingberry | High stamina boost, but inflicts serious poison |
Yellow Kingberry | Same as above, stamina now and regret later |
While some berries are always bad (like Green Crispberries), others have poisonous variants that look slightly different. Here’s what to watch for:
If you’re ever unsure about a berry’s safety in PEAK, it’s better to skip it than risk poisoning mid-climb. Green and oversized berries are your biggest red flags. Stick to familiar colors, know your regions, and always test cautiously if you're not sure.
