A retailer listing sparked rumors about the next announcement for The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake. The latest claims state Nintendo opens pre orders on August 4 although the company refuses to confirm the information.
Retail listing sparked speculation
The latest rumors began after Reddit user Naive_Associate_15 and X user NintendoBu reported that a Google search for the remake's GameStop page displayed August 4 as the pre order date. Screenshots quickly spread across Reddit, YouTube, and social media, leading many fans to believe Nintendo was preparing to open reservations. However, the reported date disappeared shortly afterward, and the listing can no longer be reproduced.

Industry insider questions the leak
Industry insider Nate the Hate dismissed the information shortly after the rumor gained attention. He explained Google mistakenly pulled metadata from another upcoming title like Beast of Reincarnation and attached the information to the wrong GameStop listing.
This explanation confirms a search indexing error caused the incorrect date instead of an actual retailer update. Nintendo needs to announce the release date and official price for The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake. Players must treat the reported August 4 launch date as a rumor until the company shares more details.

Nintendo released the original Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. It became an incredibly influential action adventure game. The company launched an enhanced version for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011. Fans still wait for developers to reveal the official release date for the modern hardware remake.
