PUBG: Battlegrounds Updat Version 40.1 - Erangel Returns to Normal Weather

Update 40.1 for PUBG: Battlegrounds will be released on PC on February 4 and on consoles on February 12, bringing Erangel back to its standard state after the Subzero event, introducing weapon balance changes, improving the interface, and launching Ranked Season 40.

Following server maintenance, the developers released Update 40.1, which introduces changes to the Erangel map by removing Subzero-related elements and restoring normal weather conditions. Item spawn locations have been adjusted, new interactive objects have been added, and several environmental features have been restored.

The update also revises the balance of certain weapons, including several DMRs. Changes to damage and recoil were made to reduce the dominance of specific models in Ranked matches and to encourage greater loadout variety.

A major focus of the patch is on improving the user interface and overall user experience. New on-screen elements have been added to display combat-related information, the squad interface has been updated, and visual alerts related to the play zone and teammate actions have been refined.

For console versions, a new Virtual Cursor system has been introduced, allowing players to navigate menus using a cursor. Lobby and menu interfaces have been aligned more closely with the PC version, and controls have been adapted for gamepads.

In addition, Ranked Season 40 has begun with the release of the update. New seasonal rewards have been added, leaderboards have been reset, and access conditions for certain Ranked modes have been adjusted in specific regions.
