To celebrate the 29th anniversary of Pokémon, The Pokémon Company marked Pokémon Day with a special broadcast, during which they presented a range of exciting news and announcements. New games were announced, updates for existing projects, and an expansion of the Pokémon Concierge animated series.

New Episodes of the Pokémon Concierge Animated Series

One of the main highlights was the expansion of Pokémon Concierge – a stop-motion animated series set at a tropical resort for Pokémon. The main characters, a new concierge Haru and her loyal partner Psyduck, interact with the resort's guests.

New episodes are already in production and will be released in September 2025. To mark this event, the first four episodes are available for free on the official Pokémon YouTube channel for a limited time.

Pokémon GO Tour: Unova Global Announced

On March 1 and 2, 2025, the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova Global event will take place for Pokemon GO. All trainers from around the world can participate for free. Legendary Pokémon Black Kyurem and White Kyurem will appear in raid battles, and there will be an opportunity to encounter Victini and Shiny Meloetta. Additionally, special promo codes will be available to enhance the gaming experience.

New Card Set for Pokemon TCG

On February 28, a new themed booster card set titled Triumphant Light will be released. Developers also offer a special deal to obtain booster packs that guarantee at least 1 card of fourth level and above (4 diamonds and above). The offer is limited from February 27 to April 30, 2025.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Celebrate Pokémon Day

Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will receive special in-game events dedicated to celebrating Pokémon Day. Announced are special gifts, mass Pokémon appearances, and Tera Raid Battles with Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaquaval, as well as upcoming battles featuring new Pokémon.

New Game: Pokémon Champions

One of the biggest surprises of the event was the announcement of Pokémon Champions – a new game focused on Pokémon battles. Unlike the classic series games, Pokémon Champions emphasizes core-style battles, making them more accessible to a larger number of players.

The game will be released on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices and will support Pokémon HOME, allowing trainers to use Pokémon from previous games. Details, including the release date, will be revealed later.

Announcement of Pokémon Legends: ZA – Release at the End of 2025

Another major announcement was the new game in the Pokémon Legends series – Pokémon Legends: ZA. The game's events will take place in Lumiose City, the largest city in the Kalos region. The game will feature a high-tech urban overhaul and offer new trainers the choice of starter Pokémon Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile.

The game will also see the return of Mega Evolution, a fan-favorite mechanic, and will feature wild zones where Pokémon and people coexist together. The battle system will become more strategic: attacks will have different ranges and special effects. Pokémon Legends: ZA will be released at the end of 2025.

Updates to Other Pokémon Games

• Pokémon UNITE brings back Remote Stadium for ranked matches and introduces a new First to 500 mode, where players need to score 500 points to win. Maps will also be updated, and new Wild Pokémon will be added.
• For Pokémon Masters EX, new content was announced, including new characters and improved battle mechanics.
• On February 28, the mobile game Pokemon Cafe Remix will host an event that will bring several new costumes for Pokémon and new desserts.
