Niantic is once again testing the waters with its GO Pass feature, and for the month of May, select Pokémon GO Trainers will have the chance to explore a new progression system packed with rewards. Available from Tuesday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. local time, the GO Pass, along with the premium GO Pass Deluxe is returning with a fresh set of incentives.
The GO Pass is a free, time-limited track that allows Trainers to earn rewards by completing in-game tasks and ranking up with GO Points. While it’s only available to certain regions as part of Niantic’s ongoing test, Trainers in eligible areas will automatically receive the May GO Pass. From May 31 to June 1, Niantic is removing the daily GO Point limit, letting Trainers grind to their heart’s content to maximize their ranks and rewards.

GO Pass Deluxe – Paid Upgrade, Premium Rewards
For those looking to take it a step further, the GO Pass Deluxe is a paid version that unlocks everything in the free track plus additional rewards. You can upgrade at any time and still claim rewards from previous ranks.
Deluxe rewards include:
- A Lucky Trinket
- Premium items: Premium Battle Passes, Incense, Lucky Eggs, Incubators, Lure Modules, and more
- Additional encounters and Candy XL
The GO Pass Deluxe is also available via the Pokemon GO Web Store, and all rewards: free or paid, must be claimed by June 5 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Featured Rewards and Pokémon
Ranking up your GO Pass this May can net you some impressive loot, including:
- Encounters with Yveltal and other Pokémon
- Stardust, XP, Candy, and Poké Balls
- Bonus rewards at milestone tiers, such as:
- Tier 1: 2× Daily Adventure Incense duration
- Tier 2: Boosted XP and Stardust from Research Breakthroughs
- Tier 3: More Stardust and XP from egg hatching
- Deluxe Only: Another Lucky Trinket
Returning as a standout item, the Lucky Trinket lets you instantly make a friend a Lucky Friend, even if you haven’t reached Best Friend status yet. That means your next trade with them is guaranteed to yield Lucky Pokémon. The trinket will expire on June 8, so don’t wait too long to use it.
Note: You must be at least Great Friends with someone to use the Trinket, and the item won't affect trading distance. You can also disable being targeted by Trinkets in your game settings.
Regional Differences and Testing Feedback
As this system is still under development, Niantic is testing different GO Pass configurations across regions. Some players may notice:
- Unique Pokémon encounters in Deluxe ranks
- Tweaked item rewards
- PokéCoins and Stickers in certain tracks
- Adjusted total rank counts
Niantic emphasizes that this phased rollout is aimed at refining the GO Pass before a potential global release.
