Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has confirmed that the studio is working on an as-yet-unannounced second game, in addition to its forthcoming science fiction title, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. Though extremely engaged on Intergalactic as co-writer and creative director, on this second game, he is working as producer and mentor to the development team, giving feedback and direction to them.

A New Project Beyond Intergalactic

During an appearance on the Press X to Continue podcast, Druckmann provided insight into his work on the game that has not yet been announced

"There's another game that Naughty Dog is in development where I'm more of a producer on it. I get to mentor, observe this other team, and provide feedback and be that executive in the room."

This confirms Naughty Dog to be working on multiple games at once, a change from its accustomed one-project development process.

Speculations and Development Team

Details of the unconfirmed game continue to be few, but industry experts speculate that it is possibly going to be directed by Shaun Escayg (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy) and Anthony Newman (The Last of Us Part II). Sources confirm that development of the game began more than three years ago, which is in line with Naughty Dog's standard development pace for major titles.

Considering that the studio's recent cancellation of The Last of Us Online was based on its continued dedication to single-player experiences, it is possible that this upcoming title is following that tradition.

With Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet planned to launch in 2027 and this latest project in development, Naughty Dog is increasingly looking to push further beyond its creative bounds.
