The private University of Silicon Valley in San Jose, California, introduced the Max Achievement Scholarship, a financial aid program built around video game achievements instead of traditional extracurricular activities. Organizers divide the scholarship into several tiers based on achievement rarity and difficulty. The Legendary Tier provides five thousand dollars per semester across three academic terms to award students fifteen thousand dollars annually.
