Pets make their appearance once more in the newly-launched Grow a Garden 2- though their role in players’ gardens differs slightly compared to its predecessor.
In this game, Pets are animals with varying abilities to help players cultivate their gardens. They occasionally spawn throughout the map for players to purchase within a limited amount of time.

As players are introduced to this farming simulator meet base defense game, they might be wondering; what are the best pets that you can get in Grow a Garden 2? In the article below, we will help guide players to choose the most suitable pet depending on their abilities.
All Pets in Grow a Garden 2
In its initial launch, there are only a total of 12 pets in the game which includes; Frog, Bunny, Owl, Deer, Robin, Bee, Monkey, Golden Dragonfly, Unicorn, Raccoon, Black Dragon and Ice Serpent. Their abilities range from increasing players’ movement speed to defending your garden from intruders.
As such, we will be categorising these pets into four different tiers according to how useful they are to players.
S Tier Pets

Pet | Price | Ability |
Black Dragon [Super] | 1 Million Sheckles | Flies around your garden and breathes fire on intruders, setting them ablaze |
Ice Serpent [Super] | 20 Million Sheckles | Flies around your garden and breathes frost on intruders, freezing them solid |
Unicorn [Mythic] | 12 Million Sheckles | Trots around your garden and doubles the chance for plants and fruit to turn Rainbow |
The Black Dragon and Ice Serpent are both very useful against intruders that might steal fruits from your garden. They allow players to move freely across the map at night, leaving your garden secure while unlocked. The Unicorn helps to increase the chance of Rainbow crops, which will apply a x25-x30 value multiplier.

A Tier Pets

Pet | Price | Ability |
Golden Dragonfly [Mythic] | 9 Million Sheckles | Flies around your garden and doubles the chance for plants and fruit to turn Gold |
Raccoon [Super] | 15 Million Sheckles | Sneaks out at night to steal fruit from empty gardens and raises your steal limit by +25 |
Deer [Rare] | 50 000 Sheckles | Trots around your garden and helps plants grow 10% faster |
Bee [Legendary] | 1 Million Sheckles | Patrols your garden and swarms intruders to defend your fruit |
Similar to the Unicorn, the Golden Dragonfly will increase the chance of Gold crops which multiplies the value of your crops by x10- x15. The Deer, while having a less exciting ability, will be useful to players all around. The Bee contributes to your garden defense by swarming any intruders.
B Tier Pets

Pet | Price | Ability |
Bunny [Common] | 20 000 Sheckles | Hops around your garden and boosts your walk speed by +5 |
Frog [Common] | 10 000 Sheckles | Hops around your garden and boosts your jump height by +5 |
Owl [Uncommon] | 25 000 Sheckles | Extends your view distance by 12.5% at night and hoots loudly when a rare pet spawns |
The pets in B Tier are pretty useful for beginners of the game such as Bunny and Frog, which helps with players’ movements to retrieve your fruits or to steal from other players. The Owl is also geared for beginners as they will alert players to rare pets that have spawned on the map.
C Tier Pets

Pet | Price | Ability |
Monkey [Mythic] | 1 Million Sheckles | Swings around your garden and occasionally picks ripe fruit and brings it straight to you |
Robin [Legendary] | 75 000 Sheckles | Flies around your garden eating ripe fruit and sometimes drops seeds |
The Monkey has a pretty lackluster ability despite being a Mythic pet as it just picks ripe fruit to give to players. On the other hand, the Robin is pretty useful for beginners to help players accumulate a lot of plants in their garden.
