Grow a Garden 2: How to Steal Crops

Grow a Garden has been a massive success with countless records broken while creating a huge and passionate community. Just over a year later, Grow a Garden 2 was born with new features that centered around the element of stealing. Essentially, Grow a Garden 2 is a blend of the old Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot, another Roblox game that has the same stealing concept.

At first glance, the game looks identical to its predecessor. However, players now start with two plots in an extendable garden in a server of eight gardens. The Seeds are revamped but familiar with an addition of a few new Seeds. Moreover, players can buy Pets that spawn randomly on the map with a timer. The biggest difference is the introduction of the day cycle. Players can keep track of the morning and night phase through the timer on the top of the page. The morning phase will last for 7 minutes and 30 seconds, followed by a quick 30 seconds of dusk phase and night phase that will last for 2 minutes.

Gardeners farm in the morning and at night, the real fun begins where players get to steal from other players’ gardens. Stealing is not new in Grow a Garden where previously, players can steal crops from other gardens using Robux. This time, stealing is pretty much the whole purpose of the game. Every night, players will go around trying their luck at robbing an unlocked garden and go back to their garden without being caught. 

How to Steal Crops

At night, suspenseful music will play and the whole garden will be blanketed in darkness. Players can steal unlimited times at night and only when the owner is not in the garden. The garden status can be seen above every player’s garden to show whether the garden is locked or unlocked. When the owner is in the garden, their crops are protected and they are also safe from being attacked. 

To steal, all players need to do is go to another player’s garden, click ‘Steal’ and run away as fast as possible back to their own garden. Players can steal as much as 50 crops at a time and the amount is not limited by the player's inventory. The stolen crops will only be confirmed once players reach their own garden, where they can find the stolen crops in their inventory. 

It sounds pretty easy but the challenge is in the defence of the owner of the garden. Each player is equipped with a Shovel that can smack players, in which the smacked thief will lose all their stolen crops. The crops will go back to the owner's garden in their original position.

Players can steal from multiple gardens at the same time. However, the longer they stay outside their garden, it is more likely they will get caught. If the timer runs out and the morning comes, players cannot steal anymore but they can still bring back whatever they have in hand. 

Stealing will become harder when players upgrade their garden’s defense with defensive plants and props. This is especially when the thief is left defenseless when their hands are full with stolen products. Watch out for defensive Pets like the Dog, defensive Gears like the evil Gnome or the plants that come alive at night like the Venus Fly Trap who snaps at any stranger in their owner's garden.

Every player has a health bar and they will take damage from some Pets, Gears and Crops. Once the health bar reaches zero, the player will break into pieces and spawn back in front of their garden.

Items to Help with Stealing

Players can equip Pets and use Gears to help them with stealing. Pets like Frog and Rabbit can help boost a player's jump and speed respectively. The Owl provides extra night vision which is perfect for observing movement of players on the map. The best Pet to help with stealing is definitely the Raccoon as it will join players at night to steal from unlocked gardens and increase player's steal limit by 25.

There are a few Gears that players can buy at the Gear Shop to help with their robbery. Jump Mushroom, Speed Mushroom, Shrink Mushroom, Supersize Mushroom and Invisibility Mushroom are great to provide temporary boost when players are stealing.

Other Gears like the Flashbang, Player Magnet, Strawberry Sniper and the Shovel is great to slow the owner down if they are outside of their garden at the time. The Flashbang can be used to blind players for a few seconds and the Player Magnet can be used to throw other players off the map, giving the player a few seconds to infiltrate the garden. Players can also use the Rainbow Carpet (Robux only) to get to the other garden quickly, although it cannot be used during stealing.

As we know by now, players cannot steal when the owner is staying in their garden. However, there is one secret weapon that players can use to infiltrate a locked garden which is the Wheelbarrow. The Wheelbarrow can pick up any gardeners, even owners hiding in their gardens. Players just need to wheel the Wheelbarrow in, scoop the other player, bring them far away from their garden (or throw them off the map) and rush back to the garden to start stealing. The only rule to use the Wheelbarrow is to have at least one friend playing on the same server.
