Grow a Garden 2: How to Defend Your Garden

Grow a Garden 2 is a huge crime scene with game mechanisms centered around stealing. Gardeners farm during the day, expanding their gardens with new Seeds, Props and Pets. When night comes, gardeners lock themselves inside their garden as those suspicious lurkers early on come back with a mission.

The introduction of stealing at night brings an unsettling feeling every time night comes in Grow a Garden 2. Players are like ninja in a garden, jumping around taking what’s not theirs. If you want to know how to steal in Grow a Garden, you can read all about it over . On the other hand, if you want to save your gardens from intruders (while probably being a criminal yourself), then here's everything you need to know about how to defend your garden.

How to Defend Your Garden from Stealing Players

Sometimes, all players want is to tend to their garden. If players want to sit out of the heist going all around them, they just have to stay put in the garden for the duration of the night, which last for two minutes. The crops cannot be stolen when the owner is inside the garden and the owner is also safe from any attacks. This is the easiest way to defend the garden.

If there’s any instances where the player leaves their garden, the garden is immediately exposed to danger. Players can quickly transport back to their garden via the ‘Garden’ teleport and stop any further attempt at stealing. However, if the player is also stealing from other gardens, they have to run back as fast as they can on foot because the teleport system is disabled during stealing.

Every player is equipped with a Shovel and this will be the main weapon against the robbers. Players can smack the stealing players with the Shovel, flinging them away and immediately retrieving back all the stolen crops. The stolen crops will appear back in the garden in their original place.

There are a few things players can do to strengthen their defense against other players. Players can spend their resources on defensive Props, Gears, Pets and Crops.

Props

A lot of the Props in Grow a Garden 2 are still unexplored. Players can definitely strengthen their garden defense with the Bear Trap that will snap shut when any intruder steps over them. It can be obtained through the Bear Trap Crate which can be purchased at the Props Shop where players have a chance to get the Common Bear Trap, Gold Bear Trap or the rare Rainbow Bear Trap.

Gears

There’s a bunch of Gears players can get from the Gear Shop or the Grow a Garden 2 Store. The Gear Shop refreshes every five minutes and the Store sells items that can only be purchased using Robux.

The Mushroom Gears are mostly used for stealing but players can use the Speed Mushroom (stackable) to boost speed while chasing down the intruders. Players can also use the Flashbang to temporarily blind the other players in its radius or the Teleport to teleport a few steps forward. To defend the garden, players can buy the Gnome which will help attack intruders under a 10-min time limit.

If players have Robux to spend, they can definitely get the Rainbow Carpet which can help them go around the garden much faster and easily capture any intruders. The Vine Wrapper, Power Hose and Freeze Ray are great at disarming players and it definitely adds to the cool defender look.

Pets

Pets that can boost a player's stats like the Frog (Jump Boost) or Rabbit (Speed Boost) are useful to chase the players who stole their crops. Other Pets that are more defensive is great to stop players from stealing in the first place such as:

  • Black Dragon: Flies around player’s garden and breathes fire on intruders
  • Ice Serpent: Flies around player’s garden and breathes frost on intruders
  • Bee: Patrol player’s garden and swarm intruders

These Pets are expensive and rarely spawn on the map. Players can equip the Owl who will give a loud hoot every time a rare Pet spawns on the map. Check out the new Pets Tier List in Grow a Garden 2 over .

Seeds

Last but not least, we can have our own plant-vs-zombie action in the garden. The Venus Fly Trap snaps violently at any intruders and the Dragon’s Breath has terrifying dragon’s heads breathing fire onto any intruders. Intruders that are hurt by these plants will drop Sheckles presumably from their own pocket.

The Bamboo Plant has no active ability but it is the only plant that cannot be stolen. Players can use this to create a fortress and provide two manageable openings that can easily be defended. Keep an eye out for criminals who quietly climb the Bamboos unnoticed. Unfortunately, there is no Favourite Tool in Grow a Garden 2 so players can accidentally harvest the Bamboos.
