Valve Bans Talent from Using AI for The International 2026 Bundles

Valve has implemented restrictions on the use of generative artificial intelligence for creating content for talent bundles for The International 2026 in Dota 2. This was reported by the dataminer DOTA_DM on their Telegram channel.

According to the new rules, photos, autographs, and voice lines created or edited using neural networks will not pass moderation. These restrictions apply to all content that talents submit for their bundles. As of the time of publication, only the requirements for talent bundles have been confirmed.

Valve has not clarified whether similar restrictions will apply to team sets. The company has also not made any additional statements about potentially extending these rules to other types of user-generated content.

The International 2026 will take place from August 13 to 23 in Shanghai, China. The tournament will feature 16 teams, and the starting prize pool will be $1,600,000. More details about the tournament can be found at this link.
