Team Secret have officially announced the closure of their Dota 2 division, ending an era that lasted more than a decade in the competitive scene.
The organization shared a statement on social media, confirming that they are stepping away from Dota 2 for the foreseeable future:
Until next time, Dota 2.
A lot of you have been wondering about the status of our Dota 2 division. We are still interested in compelling opportunities, but remain passive in seeking a return to the scene.
Thank you for all the support, and hope to see you later.Team Secret
Team Secret entered Dota 2 in 2014 and quickly became one of the most successful and recognizable organizations in the game. Over 11 years of competition, the team earned a total of $18,718,397 in prize money.
Among the organization’s greatest achievements are:
- 2nd place at The International 2022
- Top 4 finish at The International 2021
- Multiple Major tournament victories, including Shanghai Major 2016 and Chongqing Major 2019
- Consistent appearances at The International and Major events across several competitive eras

Team Secret were known for their long-term stability around captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov and for developing multiple championship-level rosters throughout different Dota 2 metas.
For now, Team Secret remain open to a possible return to Dota 2 in the future, but will no longer actively maintain a roster in the scene.
