FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, held from October 23 to November 2, likely marked the last Dota 2 tournament by the organizer FISSURE. This decision is tied to financial difficulties and a decline in revenue following the end of their partnership with their main sponsor, BetBoom. This information was shared by our sources close to the situation.
In addition to these details, journalist Richard Lewis reported on his personal X page that FISSURE has closed its office in Belgrade and is returning to Russia.

The manager of AVULUS wrote on his personal Telegram channel that the company has informed employees about the move, despite having rented an expensive office in the Serbian capital just a year ago.
FISSURE has informed its employees that it is officially leaving Belgrade and returning to Russia. They moved there just over a year ago, settled in, but are now moving out. Apparently, there's no longer a point in fighting for the rights [to cover tournaments].Jamba, manager of AVULUS
Previously, we reported that FISSURE faced a serious financial crisis. The company, which quickly made a name for itself on the esports scene by attracting top teams in CS2, is now seeking new investors to avoid closure. Problems began in 2024 when budgets for logistics and team travel were reduced, and the former main partner BetBoom decreased its support.
The organizer demanded up to $3 million per tournament from new sponsors, which proved too much for most brands. Despite this, FISSURE managed to hold a series of events — from Playground #1, featuring second-tier teams, to Playground #2, almost comparable in lineup to a major. However, it was this aggressive growth strategy that pushed the company to the brink of survival.
