LGD Gaming has announced that Dota 2 player Santiago Olivos "TaiLung" Aguero Gustavo has been banned from competing at The International 2026 following an investigation into information related to competitive integrity.
According to LGD, the organization launched an internal investigation after becoming aware of the case and proactively reported the situation, along with the information it had obtained, to the relevant tournament organizers. The club subsequently cooperated with the organizers throughout the investigation and provided the requested information.
Following the investigation, the tournament organizers decided to ban TaiLung from participating in The International 2026. In addition, PGL has imposed a lifetime ban on the player from all PGL events.
LGD stated that it respects the decision and will complete all necessary procedures in accordance with tournament regulations.
Competitive fairness and integrity are fundamental principles of professional esports and a bottom line that LGD has always upheld.
The organization also confirmed that the remaining members of its Dota 2 roster are continuing their preparations for The International 2026.
Following a special roster adjustment approved by the tournament organizers, LGD is currently working on replacing TaiLung in the mid lane. The organization will announce the new mid laner and its final The International 2026 roster once the necessary procedures are completed.
The International 2026 is set to be LGD’s next major international challenge, with the team now forced to make a last-minute roster change ahead of the tournament.
