HEROIC has exited Dota 2, releasing players and staff from their contracts. The club cited financial reasons for this decision, despite the team's performance, growing fan base, and commercial efforts surrounding the division. The players plan to continue competing together and are seeking a new organization. HEROIC announced this on the organization's official social media channels.
In their statement, HEROIC noted that the project proved to be financially unsustainable in the long term. The club expressed gratitude to the players, coaching staff, and community for their support throughout their time in Dota 2.
Despite competitive success, a growing fan base, and significant commercial efforts, the financial results ultimately fell short, making the project unsustainable for us in the long run.
The organization also highlighted the team's achievements. HEROIC became the first South American team to win a tier-1 level tournament and secured a top-6 spot at The International 2025.
Together, we made history in Dota by becoming the first South American lineup to win a tier-1 tournament and securing a top-6 finish at The International 2025.
The club further clarified that players and staff are released from their contracts and can seek new opportunities. However, the roster intends to continue competing together, albeit not under the HEROIC banner.
In 2026, HEROIC placed 5th-6th at BLAST Slam VI and PGL Wallachia Season 7, and finished 7th-8th at PGL Wallachia Season 8. The team also won the South American closed qualifier for DreamLeague Season 29.
