A bug in Dota 2 currently allows opponents to see Sun Ray on the minimap regardless of where the ability is used, effectively turning it into a temporary "legal maphack." The issue was highlighted by Team Spirit analyst Sikle.
The exploit appears to be caused by a minimap-related bug rather than an intended game mechanic. The issue has reportedly already been identified and is in the queue for a fix.
Until Valve addresses the problem, players should be aware that using Sun Ray can unintentionally reveal its position to opponents through the minimap.
The same bug also affects Timbersaw. His Flamethrower can similarly become visible on the minimap when activated, potentially revealing information that should not be available to the enemy team. Players are therefore advised to keep the issue in mind until a fix is deployed.
