Dota 2’s monthly active audience reached 8.88 million users in August 2026, marking the highest figure recorded by analyst Ben "Noxville" Steenhuizen since he began tracking the game’s monthly audience in 2023.
According to Noxville, the statistics are collected directly from Valve’s API. However, the analyst does not know the exact criteria used to determine whether a player is included in the monthly audience figures. It remains unclear whether simply launching Dota 2 is enough to be counted or whether users need to play a certain number of matches.
Noxville also pointed out that his dataset is not complete, as he missed data for three months during the period covered by his tracking. As a result, the available statistics do not represent every month since 2023.
Nevertheless, the 8.88 million figure recorded in August is the highest value in Noxville’s available dataset, making it the strongest monthly audience result for Dota 2 since the beginning of his observations.
