IEM Atlanta 2026 will become the last tournament for most teams before IEM Cologne Major 2026. It is here that the leading teams in the world will get the opportunity to test their strength before the most important event of the half-year and impose their fight against the best team in the world — Vitality.

General information about the tournament
IEM Atlanta 2026 will take place from May 11 to 17 in Atlanta, United States. Sixteen teams will participate in the tournament: 13 invited through the global Valve ranking, two from global qualifiers, and one from the American qualifier.
The championship will be divided into two stages:
- group stage;
- playoffs.
At the group stage, teams will be divided into two groups of eight participants. The format is double elimination, and all matches will be played in BO3.
Three best teams from each group will advance to the playoffs:
- group winners will advance directly to the semifinals;
- second and third places will start from the quarterfinals.
The playoffs will take place in a single elimination format and teams will don’t have any second chance to get final. The grand final of the tournament will be played in BO5 format, and there will also be an additional match in best of three format for third place between the teams that lost in the semifinals. The prize pool of the championship will amount to $300,000, and an additional $700,000 will be distributed among participating teams.

Why Vitality are the main favorite?
At this moment, Team Vitality look like a team without obvious weak points. The roster demonstrates the most stable game on the professional scene, and Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut is having an MVP-level season at practically every tournament. It is especially important that in the group stage of IEM Atlanta 2026, Vitality practically have no real competitors. In terms of preparation level, map pool, and stability, the French roster significantly surpasses most tournament teams, so their advancement into the top six looks almost guaranteed.

NAVI — the main team capable of stopping Vitality
If looking for a roster that can realistically create problems for Team Vitality, then first of all it is worth highlighting Natus Vincere. The team was close at BLAST Rivals Spring 2026 to destroying Vitality on Nuke with a 13:0 score and winning Anubis, which ended 11:13.
NAVI remain one of the few teams capable of matching Vitality in tactical and structural Counter-Strike. The team has:
- a decent individual level;
