Valve added a funny anti-cheat system to Deadlock

Valve has added an anti-cheat system to the game Deadlock, which allows opponents to instantly ban a violator or turn them into a frog for the rest of the game.

Deadlock is still in an intensive development stage, attracting more and more players to closed testing. However, among the players, cheaters have already started to appear, gaining an unfair advantage over others.

In the latest update to Deadlock, Valve introduced an anti-cheat system that detects cheating during a game session. If the system detects a violation, players on the opposing team can choose between two options:

• immediately ban the cheater

• turn them into a helpless frog for the rest of the match.

After the match ends, the violator will be banned. Additionally, matches where cheaters are detected will not be counted for other players.

The new anti-cheat system is initially launched in a simplified mode to avoid accidentally banning non-violating players. Over time, it will be improved to detect more serious violators.

The system is set to conservative detection levels as we work on a v2 anti-cheat system that is more extensive.
